Growing boys!

Oh hi! Its me again...Just wanting to show you a picture of me enjoying a Coke. Shooshie brought one of her puppies over and I wasnt sure of her at first but then I was like "what the heck!" "I'll hold her!" One day after my 5 month birthday I wake up with my first cold. Mom says it will be one of many. I think that since the weather has been so crazy here I just could not have had prevented it. I am just a little tired and miserable today. Just fussy. I think I need my Grandparents to come and see me. I can show you all the things that I can do since I last saw you. Like when my mommy and daddy put me on the floor I can roll to wherever I want to roll to, I also am getting up on my elbows and knees and trying to crawl. I am trying to sit up on my own when my mommy sits me down but then I end up toppling over. I just have to get the hang of it. I know I will be doing all of this in no time!

Someone once called you
Snips, Snails, Puppy-Dog Tails -
but I know you

and you are
mud-puddle-splashing and
secret-fort-building and
living-room-floor-wrestling and
sometimes even sweet-sibling-hugging

you are
coated with the dust and dirt of
boyhood play -
high-top tennis shoes and falling-down socks
blistered palms from too much free-throw practice
chlorine-damp hair from a splashy cannonball dive into the pool

you are
eating your veggies
only with the promise that they'll make you big and strong

you are
giggling in your pj's at Saturday morning cartoons

you are
letting the dog lick your face and

you are
laughing

you are
scrubbed and tubbed
hair combed (until
it rumples on your pillow
when you settle in to sleep)

and there in your dreams
you are
a cowboy, a fireman,
a dump-truck driver,
an astronaut,
Michael Jordan

but in my dreams
(my daydreams and my night dreams)
you are
a grown, gentle man with
a lighted smile, shining eyes -
you are
in candlelight,
kissing your beautiful new bride -
you are
in night-light,
singing soft lullabies to your babies in their beds,
and smoothing their bath-damp hair

for I know you and
that's what my little boy is made of

Happy 5 months Eli

At first you didn't lift your head;
You didn't know to smile.
The time before you knew my voice
Seemed such a long, long while.
I couldn't wait for you to roll,
And then to sit and clap.
And now you're off and crawling,
Not helpless in my lap.

Why didn't someone tell me
How fast a baby grows,
That every little baby stage
Soon comes, but sooner goes.
So I'll enjoy the fleeting time
Before you learn to walk.
And treasure every tiny noise
Before you learn to talk.

For soon you'll learn to walk,
Then run,
And talk and sing a song,
And never be my babe again.
The babe's forever gone.
Little baby, take your time,
For while you're tiny, you are mine.

Who do I look like?

Me at (almost) 5 months old.

Jaxon at 7 months old.

Zane at 7 months old.
So who do I resemble more? Zane or Jaxon?

I'm chilly!

I think that this is the coldest it thas ever been here. But we all are enjoying it before the temperature rises again. I just wanted to show you some pictures of me and my BIG brothers all bundled up on our way to school. XOXO

Cooler days

We are braving the chilly weather but apparently we dont have it as bad as you all do up north.

Took the boys to Durante Park on Longboat Key today. Zane had his fieldtrip there last week and he wanted to show me all that he had learned there. We had a really nice time.

Before and after

Me then!

Me now!

Don't you just love his "oh so chic" hair style?

Nicknames

After careful consideration the following nicknames have been chosen for Eli....
1. Lou bird
2. Lou Lou Bear
3. Lou la bee
4. Eli nator
5. Le li low
do you see a pattern here? Are we having fun yet? Probably not! So you can see that we all have came up with some seriously silly names but I guess that is just who we are. One goofy family!
Jaxon has one serious case of ringworm on his face. Where does this kid catch this stuff? We first thought it was a mosquito bite but then it kept moving around in the same area. Poor Jaxon!
Zane is coming into his own little personality. Can we say Mike Jr. (now all together!) One serious attitude but underneath it all he is still a lover! (at least he better be!)
Hope that you all are keeping warm in all the "blizzard-like" weather there. Stay warm!

Silly boys!

Just a growing

I cannot believe how the kids are just a growing~! Zane is on a field trip today at school and is going to Durrant park. Jaxon seems to be going through an akward stage and is still silly as ever! Eli is trying to talk and still no signs of a tooth yet!

4 1/2 months old

I know I am getting so big! I can now roll over and am chewing on anything I can get. My doctor says that I am cutting teeth. At my last appointment I got my second round of vaccines. Dang those things hurt, but I am one tough little guy. I did very well too.
